Hi guys!

I don't know if some of you are "Potterheads" like me, but, for those who are...I have never wished as know, to hear: "The Chamber of Secrets has being opened". A bit ironic, don't you think? I hope Pottermore opens the second book soon!!

Had Better (English Corner)

Hi guys!!

And here it is the second post of the day (I couldn't upload it yesterday, because my computer didn't work properly)!! It's also about "The English Corner". On Thursday, at my English class, we studied what I'm going to explain you today: "HAD BETTER". It is used for giving strong advice to someone. You had better do your homework, for example. It's not just an advice. It's more like an ORDER.

WATCH OUT!

The negative can be a bit tricky: You hadn't better hit your brother!! (INCORRECT)
You had better NOT hit your brother!! (CORRECT)

And for ending up, another video (it's a Christmas song; I know that it's not the time for them, but it has HAD BETTER on it's lyrics).

-Watch out! : Because it's a song, it doesn't use the entire structure. Instead of HAD BETTER, it is used BETTER (NOT). You know, it's like GOING TO -> GONNA.

Did you know HAD BETTER before? Did this help you?

Come Again? (English Corner)

Hi guys!!

How are you? Sorry for not writing for a long time. It was because of exams. But today I'm going to do 2 posts!!
I'm going to continue with the series of posts called "English Corner".

Today I'm going to talk about the phrase "Come Again?"
The literally translation isn't useful with it. If you translate it directly you can think: Come again is like Come back, but it's not! Come again means Can you repeat that? But BE CAREFUL, it's an informal expression!
So, as usual I'm going to put a video with the phrase.
Here it is!! Enjoy it!!

Did you like it? Did you already know the phrase?

Latin Tip

Hi, guys:

The post of today, it will be about Latin. It's only a mnemonic rule, so it's easier to you to study one of the pronouns (well, if you have to xD). Here it is:

LATIN
DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS

All the Latin pronouns are (as you know if you are studying or studied the subject) different from each other. They are not like Declensions, which are a bit easier to study. So, maybe a mnemonic rule, will be useful with them. For example this one (is a bit silly but it helped me so much):
HIC, HAEC, HOC: ESTE, ESTA, ESTO

                   SINGULAR
                           M               F           N
N. - V.                 Hic            Haec      Hoc
 AC.                Hunc          Hanc      Hoc
    G.                Huius         Huius     Huius
    D.                 Huic          Huic        Huic
 ABL.             Hoc            Hac        Hoc
                    PLULAL
                           M               F           N
N. - V.                    Hi            Hae      Haec
 AC.                    Hos          Has      Haec
G.                  Horum   Harum    Horum
      D.                        His                His        His
 ABL.                His            His        His
For the singular:
(I love) him a lot
(I love) him a lot
Drunk a lot
Uy!
Huit
Oh my(pronounced as mAi) god!
As you can see, the red letters, are the vowels of the demonstrative pronoun.
For the plural:
The plural of the genitive it’s similar to an Egyptian god (Horus); and the plural of the dative and the ablative, are exactly like one of the English determiner (His). I didn’t find other rules  for the rest.

So, see you on the next post.

PS: I wish that this post helped you!!

English Corner !!

Hi guys!!

How are you? Have you already got plans for the weekend? :)
Today I'm going to start the series of posts that I used to have on my Spanish blog, but because I create this one in English, I thought that it had more sense to put "The English Corner" here.
I wish that you'll find some useful things here.

To start with, today I'm going to talk about the phrase "As far as I'm concerned...". Sometimes, when you are writing compositions, for example, you're using the same words once, twice...and even more. So, it's always good, having synonymous to those words or phrases. Yesterday, I learnt a new way of saying "In my opinion..." ("As far as I'm concerned"). So, I did a video in which the phrase is used, so that it can be easier to know how to use it.
Here is the video...

Did you like it? What do you think?

Hi, guys!

Today, I found a little composition that I did a few years ago...I didn't remember that I had it on the computer, indeed... Anyway, it reminds me good things, so I'm going to put it here. So here it is...

PERCY JACKSON & THE LIGHTNING THIEF

Last Friday I went to see “Percy Jackson and the lightning thief”. It’s about a teenager, Percy, who discovers he is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman and the Greek god Poseidon.
Percy and his friends go on a quest to prevent a war between the gods Zeus, Poseidon and Hades for the disappear lightning.

The film is set in Vancouver and Tennessee.
The director is Chris Columbus, and it stars Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase and Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood.

I think Percy Jackson and the lightning thief is the best film I’ve seen. The soundtrack is brilliant and the storyline is exciting. I really liked the film because I love the Greek mythology and I think the principal actor (Logan Lerman) is handsome. I like fantasy films so I decided to see it with my friends and I think I’m going to start to read the novel series.

I wish you enjoy it !! See you on the next post,

SOON... :D

Hi guys !!

How are you doing?

You'll may see this logo more than once, perhaps with an explanation to tell you what is going to be the next post about, or maybe...not x3
Well, today I'm writing this to tell you that soon I'll post another chapter of the story I started writing a few weeks ago. I didn't gave a name to the series yet, but I'll try to do it soon, so it's more handy for everybody, including me. I'll try to post it next week, but I can't promise anything, because I have exams, so...

Good luck for those of you who are taking exams next week too !! ;-)
