Had Better (English Corner)

Hi guys!!

And here it is the second post of the day (I couldn't upload it yesterday, because my computer didn't work properly)!! It's also about "The English Corner". On Thursday, at my English class, we studied what I'm going to explain you today: "HAD BETTER". It is used for giving strong advice to someone. You had better do your homework, for example. It's not just an advice. It's more like an ORDER.

WATCH OUT!

The negative can be a bit tricky: You hadn't better hit your brother!! (INCORRECT)
You had better NOT hit your brother!! (CORRECT)

And for ending up, another video (it's a Christmas song; I know that it's not the time for them, but it has HAD BETTER on it's lyrics).

-Watch out! : Because it's a song, it doesn't use the entire structure. Instead of HAD BETTER, it is used BETTER (NOT). You know, it's like GOING TO -> GONNA.

Did you know HAD BETTER before? Did this help you?

Come Again? (English Corner)

Hi guys!!

How are you? Sorry for not writing for a long time. It was because of exams. But today I'm going to do 2 posts!!
I'm going to continue with the series of posts called "English Corner".

Today I'm going to talk about the phrase "Come Again?"
The literally translation isn't useful with it. If you translate it directly you can think: Come again is like Come back, but it's not! Come again means Can you repeat that? But BE CAREFUL, it's an informal expression!
So, as usual I'm going to put a video with the phrase.
Here it is!! Enjoy it!!

Did you like it? Did you already know the phrase?

See you on the next post,
